Indigenous Impacts
Welcome to the space.
This site and related training material focuses on the intangible impacts that are explored through a culturally appropriate methodological framework that highlights Indigenous mental health in impact assessment.
The project spotlights the many impacts on Indigenous people; their mental, physical, spiritual and emotional well-being, their identities, cultures, and communities. The site calls attention to the complexities of Indigenous people and their relationship with the land. The site provides an improved way of understanding how health is understood from an Indigenous context. The content of this site is meant to be an interactive training tool where our team will guide you throughout the StoryMap, the tools available, the manual and other online resources.
The goal of this project is to address the challenges that Indigenous communities face with regard to impact assessment and to help you learn how to properly engage with Indigenous communities in regard to projects under the Impact Assessment Act of 2019.
